A few updates:

The FCC has granted Garmin’s request for an extension of the waiver allowing transmission of digital GPS coordinate data on GMRS. Hat Tip: Steven J. Crowley

GS1 Hong Kong announced the winners of the Hong Kong RFID Awards 2010:
Ubisense founder Richard Green was awarded Ernst & Young UK Science and Tech Entrepreneur of the Year 2010. And UWB RTLS vendor Ubisense was a Deloitte Fast 50 winner.
If you access social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter over an unencrypted WiFi connection, a new Firefox add-on, “Firesheep,” can snag your passwords and enable someone to hijack your account. Another Firefox add-on, Force-TLS, makes these sites use an encrypted https connection, foiling Firesheep.

Hans G. Schantz is the Principal Scientist of Geeks and Nerds Corporation (GaN). He was co-founder and CTO of Q-Track Corporation until GaN's acquisition of Q-Track in 2019. Co-inventor of NFER indoor location technology, he has more than 40 U.S. patents to his credit. He is the author of The Art and Science of Ultrawideband Antennas, The Biographies of John Charles Fremont, and the science fiction thriller, The Hidden Truth, available free through Kindle Unlimited. The sequel, A Rambling Wreck, was a finalist for the Conservative Libertarian Fiction Alliance 2018 Book of the Year, and third in the series is The Brave and the Bold.
