Last week, Huntsville, AL-based Q-Track Corporation promoted Stephen A. Werner to Chief Executive Officer. Werner previously served as Chief Operating Officer. He brings over twenty-five years of executive experience to Q-Track, including previous service as VP and General Manager for AAR Summa Technology. Werner also held senior positions with Sanmina-SCI and Teledyne Brown. Q-Track commercialized their revolutionary Near-Field Electromagnetic Ranging (NFER®) wireless tracking technology with a combination of federal contracts and private equity totaling about $10M. The company recruited Werner two years ago to transition Q-Track from an R&D start-up to a product company. In 2011 alone, Werner increased commercial sales of Q-Track’s patented Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) products five-fold.

Good for Steve. I actually worked in Steve’s group at SCI when I first came to Huntsville back in 1997. He probably doesn’t remember me as I was just a new graduate at the time.
